THE INFLUENCE OF MANAGERIAL STYLE ON PERFORMANCE IN THE TEXTILE INDUSTRY IN ROMANIA

This paper examines the influence of managerial styles on employee productivity and performance in Romania’s textile industry, using Company T as a case study. The study is based on a quantitative survey applied to 46 employees across production and administrative departments, combined with statistical analyses (Cronbach’s Alpha, Shapiro–Wilk, and Spearman correlations) to ensure the reliability and validity of results. Findings show that participative and transformational leadership styles are most strongly associated with higher productivity, job satisfaction, and professional development, particularly among office employees, while authoritarian and laissez-faire styles were more evident in production and linked to lower motivation and work quality. The results confirm that managerial adaptability is crucial in dynamic industrial contexts, and highlight the importance of transparent communication, frequent feedback, and professional development opportunities. The study contributes to leadership literature by providing empirical evidence from a traditional sector undergoing modernization and offers practical recommendations for strengthening organizational performance through flexible and employee-centered management practices.
