About the Journal

Mission

Founded in 2002, the Review of Management and Economic Engineering builds on over two decades of scholarly contribution, having evolved alongside and often in response to the major waves of innovation, globalization, and technological disruption that have reshaped economies and organizations in the 21st century. This historical perspective enables the journal to offer both continuity and insight into the forces that drive long-term transformation. As an international, peer-reviewed forum, the journal advances high-quality, interdisciplinary research at the intersection of management, economics, and innovation, seeking to deepen theoretical and empirical understanding of how innovation-driven change, strategic adaptation, and systemic shifts shape organizational performance, market structures, and public governance.

We welcome rigorous, data-informed studies at macro, meso, and micro levels, with an emphasis on actionable insights for managerial practice and policy-making. Our focus includes creative destruction, organizational agility, sustainability, and institutional evolution, particularly where these dynamics catalyze structural and technological progress. Drawing on its legacy and its commitment to academic excellence, methodological diversity, and global engagement, the Review of Management and Economic Engineering continues to transform managerial and economic knowledge into a foundation for navigating complexity and fostering sustainable economic and social development.

Peer Review Process

Every manuscript submitted to the Review of Management and Economic Engineering is initially evaluated for suitability by the Editorial Board. Papers may be rejected without undergoing double-blind peer review if they are considered outside the journal’s scope or do not meet the - General Requirements. Articles that pass the initial evaluation are forwarded for a double-blind peer review process. Authors may suggest suitable independent reviewers. Two or more independent blind reviewers are confidentially assigned by the Editorial Board. Any round of the review process can take up to 90 days.

The primary purpose of the double-blind peer review is to provide the Editorial Board with the information necessary to make an informed decision. The review process also guides authors on how to improve their manuscripts to meet publication standards. A negative review should clearly explain the manuscript’s weaknesses. If authors do not respond to the recommendations for improvement or respond inadequately, the Editorial Board reserves the right to reject the manuscript.

Publication Ethics

The Review of Management and Economic Engineering is a peer-reviewed research journal committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and article quality. Conformance to ethical principles is expected from all parties involved in the publication process: Editors, Reviewers, and Authors.

Editors

  • Evaluate manuscripts exclusively on academic merit.
  • Base acceptance or rejection decisions on the paper’s importance, originality, clarity, validity, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all submitted material while under review.
  • Select appropriate, qualified reviewers.
  • Maintain a double-blind peer review process, ensuring that reviewers do not know the authors’ identities and vice versa.
  • Take appropriate measures in response to ethical complaints regarding submitted or published papers.
  • Apply plagiarism screening policies.

Reviewers

  • Treat manuscripts as confidential documents.
  • Conduct reviews objectively, formulating observations clearly with supporting arguments to help authors improve their papers.
  • Assess the originality of submissions and be alert to plagiarism or redundant publication.
  • Avoid reviewing manuscripts where conflicts of interest exist due to competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with authors, companies, or institutions connected to the manuscript.
  • Assist editors in making publication decisions and contribute to improving submitted works through constructive feedback.

The journal will consider retractions in cases of scientific misconduct (such as plagiarism, fraudulent data, duplicate publication) or significant errors. A retraction notice will be issued, clearly identifying the retracted article and the reasons for retraction.

Generative AI Policy

The Review of Management and Economic Engineering recognizes the transformative impact of generative artificial intelligence (AI) technologies on academic research and publishing. To ensure transparency, research integrity, and responsible use of AI tools, the journal adopts the following policy regarding the use of Generative AI in manuscript preparation, submission, and publication.

  1. Use of Generative AI by Authors
  • Authors are permitted to use Generative AI tools (e.g., for language editing, summarizing, or code generation), but AI tools must not replace the scholarly contribution of the author(s).
  • Authors are fully responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and originality of the content generated with the assistance of AI tools.
  • Any use of GenAI tools must be explicitly disclosed in the manuscript (e.g., in the Acknowledgments or a separate Disclosure section), including:
    • The name of the AI tool used
    • The purpose of its use (e.g., grammar checking, text summarization, code generation)
    • A statement confirming that the final content was reviewed and approved by the authors.

Example Disclosure Statement:

"The authors used ChatGPT (OpenAI, 2025 version) to assist with language editing and summarization. The authors take full responsibility for the content and accuracy of the final manuscript."

  1. AI as an Author
  • Generative AI tools cannot be listed as authors under any circumstances. Authorship requires the ability to take public responsibility for the content, make intellectual contributions, and respond to questions or critiques, capabilities that AI tools do not possess.
  1. Use of AI in Peer Review
  • Reviewers and editors must not use Generative AI tools to process or summarize confidential manuscript content, as this may violate the confidentiality agreement inherent in the peer-review process. If a reviewer chooses to use such tools for personal assistance (e.g., grammar suggestions in reviewer comments), this must be disclosed to the editorial office, and no manuscript content may be uploaded to third-party platforms.
  1. Use of AI by Editors
  • Editors may use automated tools, including AI, only for administrative, formatting, or language-editing purposes. AI must not be used to make editorial decisions or assess the scientific quality of manuscripts. All AI-assisted activities must be supervised by a human editor and the journal must maintain transparency regarding such use.
  1. Ethical and Legal Considerations
  • Authors must ensure that the use of AI tools does not result in plagiarism, fabrication, or misrepresentation of data.
  • AI-generated images, tables, or figures are subject to the same standards of originality, copyright, and ethical approval as other manuscript content.
  1. Updates to Policy
  • As the field of Generative AI evolves, this policy may be updated. Authors, reviewers, and editors are encouraged to stay informed about ethical AI use and refer to current best practices as published by COPE and leading academic publishers.
