Abstract
The history of oil and gas industry has been and is still an intrinsic part of the economic and social development of modern Romania. Although Romania has an ancient and illustrious history of hydrocarbons extraction, today it is no longer a world player, as it was in the interwar period. Starting from these premises, on the one hand, and also from the conclusions resulting from our previous study of which is a sequel, on the other hand, in this paper we shall identify several development alternatives in the next decade of the industry for primary processing of hydrocarbon resources in Romania, which will allow the achievement of the strategic objectives of the sector, in order to meet the demand in the energy sector and for the sustainable use of domestic oil and gas resources.
